Coach Moyer is a 1968 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. As a junior he was the leading rusher and receiver on the 1966 Bux-Mont League champions. He earned 9 varsity letters participating in football, baseball, basketball, and track.
Coach Moyer attended the University of Pittsburgh on a football scholarship. He graduated in 1972 as Pitt’s all-time leading receiver. Coach Moyer started coaching at Pitt as a student coach. He went on to coach at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, PA, Red Land High School near Harrisburg, Upper Perkiomen High School, Kutztown University, and Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh. Coach Moyer also coached the quarterbacks at Spring-Ford in 2014 and 2015. As Upper Perk’s head coach he led Upper Perk to the PAC-10 co-championship in 1997 and the district one quarterfinal in 1996 and the district one final in 1997. Coach Moyer is presently in his 47th
year of coaching football.
Coach Moyer received his B.A. in education at Pitt and M.Ed. at Shippensburg University. He taught social studies for 33 years. He is presently retired with his wife Emily. They have 5 grown children, Kyle, Erin, Jeff, Rachel, and Greg, and one grandson, Nolan.
